Franck/Hugo French Mélodies Recital

Jamie will perform settings of Victor Hugo by Franck, Niedermeyer and Fauré at the Amarillis Concert Hall at the RCM in a joint recital.

The recital is a part of a two-day event around the 200th birthday of César Franck. There are scholars presenting papers on his work, masterclasses for organists and pianists and various other events. At 12.30pm before the recital, Professor Richard Langham Smith will be in conversation with Emily Kilpatrick, author of a book on the development of the French mélodie to be published by University of Rochester Press in November ‘French Art Song: History of a New Music’.
