Bach Mass in G and Handel Dixit Dominus

Bass soloist in Bach’s Mass in G minor and Handel’s Dixit Dominus with the Nonsuch Singers and Baroque players, at St James’s Sussex Gardens

Nonsuch Singers (under Musical Director Tom Bullard) are delighted that this summer they will be joined once again by the wonderful Nonsuch Baroque players, led by Catherine Martin, for a glorious programme of baroque masterpieces in the spacious and peaceful setting of St James's Church, near Paddington. Handel's early masterpiece Dixit Dominus, with its virtuosic arias and energetic chorus movements, is paired with Bach's Mass in G minor - a setting of the Lutheran mass grounded in a series of beautiful chorales. The concert opens with Bach's double choir motet Der Geist hilft user Schwachheit auf.
